Territory Manager – Mid-Atlantic

Quick Tie Products, Inc. (“QuickTie”) is a growing manufacturer servicing the building materials products industry.  We manufacture and distribute a proprietary hold-down system for wood frame and masonry construction, as well as other related framing products.  We are looking for a sales professional to expand our footprint in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Our Mid-Atlantic Territory Manager is responsible for generating product sales in the territory covering North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. This will be a home-based position requiring daily travel within the territory and semi-annual travel to the company headquarters in Jacksonville, FL.
You will target all projects, specifiers, contractors and distribution channels/partners servicing the single and multi-family residential market segments.  Sales calls to and creating strong relationships with those folks will be your primary day-to-day.  You will also lead presentations, training sessions and educational workshops (including scheduling, promotion, set-up, presentation, and take-down).
Essential Job Duties and responsibilities (as a % of your time):
70%: drive demand and grow sales of all QuickTie products by visiting jobsites, prospecting, conducting sales calls, identifying opportunities, giving presentations including hands on demonstrations, training, and repairing tools.  The key to long-lasting success?  Specifications of QuickTie products (in lieu of competitors’ products) on single-family and multi-family plans.
20%: Cultivate relationships with customers and business partners (suppliers, specifiers, building officials, and contractors).  Educate.  Train.  Support.  Entertain (occasionally). Solve problems (consistently).  Understand customers’ business models and pricing structures. Be “their guy” (or gal).
5%: Participate in homebuilder association meetings and committees and/or causes.  Be a brand ambassador for QuickTie. Recruit good people.
5%: Other “stuff” that comes with a sales role (CRM usage, scheduling, submitting expense reports in a timely manner, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of industry experience with 2+ years of management experience (with direct reports and employee development).
  • Moderate to deep knowledge of residential construction, distribution, and project workflow from architect/engineer to the contractor.
  • Sales and account management experience with a proven track record of sales/profit growth.

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (required).
Physical Requirements 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, see, talk, and hear.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment
Home office environment + places of business (e.g., offices & stores) + construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc.  Job sites may employ heavy machinery to avoid; noise level on site may be loud at times.
This job requires 75% domestic travel.
  • First year gross on-target earnings (base + commission): $100,000 – $110,000
